NET-Acid is the next step of Mine-imator HCl Edition: an all-in-one modeling, rendering and animation tool in development at Negentropy. It turns HCl Edition, which was a Minecraft-only animation program, into a general production tool that works across games and 3D software.
- Status: in development. There is no download or release date yet.
- In the meantime, Mine-imator HCl Edition keeps getting updates. Get HCl Edition on itch.io
Goals
- Models and animations that work in other programs: import and export models and animations in formats Blender, Unity and others open and edit directly (FBX, glTF/GLB, OBJ). Rigs and motion made in NET-Acid can be continued in other tools.
- Support for existing Mine-imator files: open Mine-imator and HCl Edition projects, models and keyframe files as they are, with converters that bring older rigs to the new structure.
- Its own editor:
- Map import per game — Minecraft worlds and schematics today (mod blocks included), with more games to come.
- Model import — FBX, OBJ, glTF, MMD, Roblox and Blockbench.
- Rig and mesh editing tools inside the editor.
- Modeler + renderer + animator in one place: mesh modeling, high-quality rendering (toon shading, volumetric light, motion blur, bokeh) and animation with keyframes, a graph editor, IK and physics, all in one program.
Already working in HCl Edition
- A C++ engine (Direct3D 11, Jolt physics)
- Import of FBX, OBJ, glTF, MMD and Roblox models; animations and MMD dances apply to any character through retargeting
- Export to glTF, OBJ, FBX (experimental) and Blockbench
- Mesh editing, physics (ragdolls, springs, cloth), a graph editor, toon shading, spotlight gobos and more
